Accent Silver™ is a silver alloy slip that is used to apply silver embellishments to copper, bronze, and brass metals.  Accent Silver™ was developed to provide artists who work with base metal clays, and/or copper and brass stampings, a new material with which to add rich color to their jewelry.  Its purpose is analogous to that of Accent Gold for Silver™, which is used to apply gold embellishments to silver jewelry.

Accent Silver™ contains a mixture of silver and base metal powders, plus other additives to enable it to adhere to jewelry surfaces after air drying and also bond to the surfaces during the firing process.  The link above provides detailed instructions for its use.  This item must be used with a firing container (covered steel can) filled with activated carbon; both are available from distributors who offer Accent Silver™.  After firing a wide variety of finishes can be applied, including patinas used for coloring silver clay and sterling silver.

The photos below show how Accent Silver™ can be used to highlight copper and bronze jewelry.
